Introduction

Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) cover nearly 80% of the country and face persistent challenges of water scarcity, low productivity, climate shocks, and food insecurity. To address these, DADE seeks to implement a strategic training, research, and capacity building program focusing on:

About Us

Dryland Agriculture Development East Africa (DADE) is a regional NGO committed to transforming agriculture in East Africa’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). These regions, covering nearly 80% of Kenya and significant parts of Ethiopia, Somalia, and Tanzania, face recurrent droughts, poor yields, and food insecurity—conditions worsened by climate change. DADE was established in 2025 to address food insecurity and vulnerability in East Africa’s drylands and Combat climate change. With a dedicated team of agronomists, climate experts, and development practitioners, DADE works with farmers, governments, and research institutions to build resilient food systems.
